From: Norman Scarth 3 April 2012 Subject: Expenditure of public funds by West Yorkshire Police and the Crown Prosecution Service on 'prosecution' (persecution) of World War 2 Veteran Norman Scarth
Dear Ministry of Justice, The latest persecution (disguised as prosecution) of Norman Scarth concerns supposed 'offences' committed by him on 29th September and 22nd October 2011. To anyone who has any comprehension of the English language, they are NOT 'offences' at all. Would you please inform me: (a) How much Police and CPS time has been spent on this case so far, including the search for this 'Wanted Man' since 23rd february 2012? (b) How much taxpayers' money has been expended by the Police and the CPS so far, including the cost in time and transport of transporting the prosecution team and all the 'witnesses' to Manchester Magistrates' Court on 23rd February 2012? Knowing only too well of the corruption which is rampant in our courts, there is a possibility that if found and arrested he may be found guilty. That possibility is a certainty if it is before a lawyer masquerading as a magistrate. With that possibility/certainty, we ask question (c) What is the estimated cost to the taxpayer if/when the case is taken to appeal in the Crown Court, the Appeal Court, the Supreme Court and an Application made to the European Court of Human Rights? (d) At the 'hearing' in Leeds on 2nd Feb, your Counsel Adam Roxborough stated that the 'offences' now charged are 'non-imprisonable'. Would you please confirm (or correct) this? (e) What are the maximum sentences for these 'offences'? (f) What sentences will you be asking for? (g) Which CPS Officers considered whether it was 'In the Public Interest' (as they are required to do) to start, and then continue the 'prosecution' (really persecution) of this old man, forcing him to flee the land of his birth and seek asylum abroad. Yours faithfully, Norman Scarth (and Associates) PS: These questions are particularly pertinent in what we are told is a time of financial stringency?

Clarification of the blog title.
For the benefit of commentor 'Lindsay' and others, I clarify the blog title. The words are not mine, but those of Nobel Laureate Alexandr Solzhenitsyn, who said, "To put a sane person in a madhouse (his word) is worse than the gas chambers: the torture is more cruel, death takes longer". So it was for Andy McCardle (Google the name). Also Google 'Maurice Kirk Flying Vet'. He gives me credit for helping him escape from the mad doctor Tegwynn Williams in a South Wales nuthouse, but Maurice is now suffering unbelievable torment in Cardiff Prison, held on remand on ANOTHER trumped up charge.
My absence from the blog for more than six months is partly for the reason in my last message, and partly because the sadistic persecution of the last 17 years has intensified as I have got older. Forced to flee to Ireland because of it, I am now safe (hopefully!), and will be able to keep the blog more up-to date. So, 'WATCH THIS SPACE!'

Leeds Courthouse. BIG EVENT, 15th June!
If we are ever to have a semblance of Justice in Britain, we must break the stranglehold which the Legal Mafia have on The Law. One way we can do it is by Private Prosecutions (a right we have had from centuries before the police and CPS were invented). 'THEY' know this, which is why they use every dirty trick to obstruct Private Prosecutions. I am seeking to overcome this obstruction by Judicial Review in the High Court. There is to be a hearing at Leeds Combined Court Centre on 15th June 2011, listed as 'NOT BEFORE 12 NOON'. Please be there if you possibly can. I truly believe it warrants an attendance as big as at Birkenhead on 7th March.
Update 2012:
This of course turned out to be another Kangaroo Court. My attempts to apeal against the judge (who lives in Rawtenstall & leads a pop group called 'Wasted') have (of course!) been obstructed by the RCJ.

Marsha Singh MP: If you are aman of integrity - PROVE IT!
Marsha4bradwest@yahoo.co.uk 01274 541166, longthorna@parliament.uk 01274 402220, mcleanc@parliament.uk 0207 219 4623.
Dear Marsha Singh. (MP for Bradford West).
I acknowledge receipt of your letter dated 13 July 2010. The fact that you have returned the £50 ‘bribe’, and said ‘Please do not send me money again’ suggests that you are a man of integrity. The fact that you have completely ignored the content of my letter (infinitely more important), and the invitation to a committee room meeting in the House of Commons (seeking to expose crime by powerful people) suggests the opposite. I refer to your letter dated 7 April 2010 (addressed to me personally) when you were seeking my vote. You claim to be ‘accessible to your constituents’, yet my requests for an appointment to see you have been contemptuously ignored. In the letter you mention Winter Fuel Payments for old folks to ensure we do not die of hypothermia, for which the Labour Government can rightly claim credit. However, you are well aware that Bradford Council (in collusion with the most ruthless gangsters in Britain) have not only robbed me of my meagre life savings of £6,500, but, in the middle of the coldest winter for several years, robbed me of my Winter Fuel Payment and Cold Weather Payments - and I DO mean ROBBED! This worries you not at all. Your publication ‘News for Bradford West’ for Autumn 2009 said “I am willing to meet people in their homes”. Yes, please. Unable to get an appointment to see you at your surgery, and bearing in mind my advanced years, it would be a good thing if you could visit my home, where I can show you evidence of the robbery mentioned, and other crime against me. PLEASE do not suggest I go to the police. You know full well that West Yorkshire Police have themselves committed serious crime against me, beginning with a potentially lethal terror attack on 8th August 1999, without even the PRETENCE of a lawful excuse. Afterwards I asked you to put down an Early Day Motion in Parliament. Instead, you wrote a chummy letter to the Chief Constable ‘Dear Graham’ (the man responsible for the attack, at least vicariously), and got an equally chummy letter back, ‘Dear Marsha’.
You will not know as yet that, on 24th June 2010, invited to the Lord Mayor’s Lunch for Veterans in Bradford City Hall (of all places!), without any justification whatsoever, I was there subjected to a serious criminal assault by a covert Nazi thug which ‘occasioned actual bodily harm’, leaving me in great pain. There will undoubtedly be CCTV film of the attack, but my request to the Lord Mayor for copies, has been insultingly rebuffed. If you are indeed a man of integrity, perhaps you will take up that matter for me?
Norman Scarth.

CHRISTMAS 1943. THE SEQUEL: A £6,500 MUGGING.
A Happy New Year ? First I repeat the last part of ‘A Very Different Christmas’ (amended slightly).
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I was proud to have ‘done my bit’ to keep the Nazis from our shores. My pride remained until the age of 70.
I am less proud now. Tragically, all those who died, British and German, gave their lives in vain. The Nu-Nazis (for want of a better word) have achieved by stealth that which Hitler failed to achieve by force. A new ‘Master Race’ (not the one envisaged by Hitler) has surreptitiously seized ‘Absolute Power’, and will destroy anyone (big or little) they see as a threat to that power. THEY ARE LAWYERS! Despised all over the world, in Britain the worst of them become judges. Everything we fought against in WW2 has come about under Lawyer Blair’s Regime and the ‘Heirs to Blair’, the poppies they wear being a nauseating sham. Added to which we have the evil as in Stalinist Russia, where sane whistle-blowers and ‘dissidents’ are silenced by incarceration in ‘Mental Hospitals’.
In 'A Very Different Christmas' (below) I tell of the voices calling for help from the black of the winter Arctic night in the Barents Sea on Boxing Day 1943 as we steamed away, leaving those men to certain death within minutes. Those voices haunt me yet, not only at Christmas. It is for them, as well as those of our own side who gave their lives, that I will fight to my last breath to expose these Nu-Nazis – who are less honest than the old ones. That of course is why I am now labelled 'A very dangerous man'. Indeed I am, but a danger to whom, and in what way?
The story continues below:
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
31st December 2009 I was robbed of my life saving. £6,500.
1) Not a lot after a lifetime’s honest, hard work and fighting for my country in World War 2. It is not entirely my own fault. I have been robbed before. About 10 years ago crooked judges dived into my bank account (into which I had my old age pension paid) and grabbed every last penny – including the pensioner’s £10 Christmas bonus. Why? IT WAS REVENGE!
2) It was revenge for my 1997 General Election manifesto, for my book ‘Cause for Concern’ (published the same year), but particularly for my single-handed success in the European Court of Human Rights (case 33745/96). It brought a vital change into British law, incorporated into the 1998 Human Rights Act. The change is much hated by lawyers and judges - and I am hated for it.
3) That was only the start however: On 8th August 1999 there came a potentially lethal terror attack by a mob-handed gang of West Yorkshire Police (being used as a private army) – without even the pretence of a lawful excuse. They demanded entry and radioed for a battering ram and riot shields – against one solitary old man, doing no wrong in any shape or form!
4) The intention was to silence me by fear, a heart attack or a stroke the hoped for outcome. Few men of my age would not have had one or the other. Though my heart was pounding and my head bursting (as yours would have been) I defied them. Because a crowd of concerned neighbours had gathered, they did not use the battering ram, but instead laid siege to the house for three hours before backing off, saying, “We have decide this is not a police matter”, but adding the sinister threat – “We’ll be back!” (all that, and much more, is on tape.)
5) In the days, weeks and months which followed, my desperate S.O.S. messages were faxed to EVERY watchdog in the land - and I do mean all of them! Amnesty International, Liberty, Justice, Ombudsmen and about 200 MPs. All of them being lawyer controlled, a curt brush-off came from only two; from the rest not even acknowledgment. It was obvious the police had licence to commit any crime against me with impunity.
6) For eleven months I dared leave the house only three times, imprisoned by fear - and I am not a timid man. My fear proved justified on 20th July 2000, when there came a second attack. This time (armed with a bogus Possession Order), they did smash into my home and gave me a brutal kicking that put me in hospital on intravenous treatment.
7) To cover up this police criminality I was stitched up for a non-existent ‘crime’. Instead of my attackers, it was me in the dock at Sheffield Crown Court, a Kangaroo Court if ever there was one. My witnesses and; my evidence were banned, AS WERE THE PRESS! That alone should have set alarm bells ringing for those who are supposed to be concerned about such things.
8) The sadistic Judge was David Ronald Bentley, who then lived with wife Christine at 311 Ecclesall Road, Sheffield. Three times when I complained about his gross misconduct he had me literally dragged and thrown back to the cells.
9) He fed monstrous lies to the specially selected jury (all relatives and friends of police) to get the verdict he wanted. Then, for a first ‘offence’ by a 75 year old WW 2 veteran, imposed a sentence to ensure I died in prison. Well, I didn’t die, but lived long enough to have ‘Paid My Debt to Society’, and was due to walk free on 25th April 2005.
10) Instead, aged 79, weighing 8 stone, with spondulosis, osteo-arthritis and congenital fusion of the spine, in double handcuffs, escorted by three sadistic screws and a 'nurse', I was unlawfully carted off to Newton Lodge Gulag ‘Mental Hospital’, Wakefield, not as a patient (neither needing nor receiving any treatment), but a captive, just as much as Terry Waite, John McCarthy, Brian Keenan in Beirut, Daniel Pearl in Pakistan, Ken Bigley and Margaret Hassan in Iraq. I never expected to be let out alive, but by a miracle it happened, and here I am, STILL trying to waken the nation to the corruption which is rampant throughout this ruthless, lawless, murderous and merciless ‘1984’ Police State. And STILL under attack from the evil ones!
11) NOW TO THE LATEST ROBBERY: IT WAS A MUGGING BY THE JUDICIAL MAFIA (See endnotes). Some of you may be aware that I was arrested while a candidate at the local election last year to prevent me from campaigning (the police admitted it was on orders from ‘higher up’), and that I put in an Election Petition to have the result declared void because of this Zimbabwean treatment. I was required to put down £2.500 as security for costs.
12) The Kangaroo Court ‘Hearing’ of the Petition took place in Bradford City Hall on 6/7th May 2009 . IF ‘Democracy’ meant anything at all to the people of Bradford, City Hall should have been packed, the overflow watching proceedings on the big TV screen in Millennium Square. They would have seen how the evil, sadistic, corrupt, Jekyll and Hyde Deputy High Court Judge Richard Mawrey QC (colluding with the police to withhold vital evidence) ruled against me, and of course the £2,500 was seized. Sadly, there were only a handful of Councillors, and ONLY ONE member of the public present.
13) There followed a request from Dennis Schulman, a 'Legal Officer' employed by Bradford Council, that I make proposals as to how I intended to pay a further £46,000 costs.
14) I had of course put in an appeal against Mawrey, which is still to be heard – but it has come up against corruption beyond belief in the place laughably known as the ‘Royal Courts of Justice’!
15) On 31st December 2009, out of the blue came a High Court Order telling me that they had put a stop on all the money in my bank (as they did on the previous occasion). The only reason I had £6,500 is because I live frugally, don’t smoke, drink, run a car, or have holidays, and have managed to put by a little from my Old Age Pension to use to continue the fight against corruption, and pay for my funeral.
16) So, in the middle of the coldest winter for several years, they decided to grab that – along with THE WINTER FUEL PAYMENT and WEEKLY COLD WEATHER PAYMENTS given to we old folks to ensure we do not die of hypothermia. I must remember to thank Prime Minister Gordon Brown for them!
17) There was a ‘hearing’ in the ‘Royal Courts of (IN)Justice’ on 25th January 2010, when another crooked judge (‘Master’ Fontaine) ordered that the £6,500 be handed over to the crooked lawyers acting for the corrupt Bradford Council.
18) Apart from the crime against me, Bradford Council have spent at least £100,000 to achieve this ‘success’, which is a serious misuse of taxpayers’ money.
19) As my paltry savings are nowhere near the £46,000 ‘debt’, they will then have me declared bankrupt, to ensure I can never try to seek a remedy in the courts, or stand for election ever again. THAT of course has been the aim all along. THAT is my reward for fighting for my country in WW2 and a lifetime’s honest hard work. THAT is ‘Democracy’ in Britain. The Rule of Law? In Britain we have the Rule of Law-yers – a very different thing!
20) At her Coronation the Queen swore before Almighty God “To Deliver Justice with Mercy”. These lot have as much mercy as a mouse would find in a snake pit! Knowing from past experience that this could happen, it had been in my mind to withdraw my savings from the bank, and stuff it under the mattress or somewhere.
21) However, I didn’t get round to it. For the last eight months I have been working night and day trying to help that other whistle-blower victim Maurice Kirk, and have not had time to look after my own interests (I have no regrets about this: Maurice and I are fighting the same enemy). Though this is obviously bad for me from a financial aspect, and for my well-being, it is just possible that good might come of it. Those who pretend that everything bad in Britain comes out of the EU may realise that Police State Britain is even more evil.
FOOTNOTE 1: The attack on 8th August 1999 came just 17 days after the ECtHR had made the ruling in my favour which brought the change in British law (the change much hated by lawyers and judges). It was also just 6 weeks after I had appeared in the Civil Appeal Court, and been bold enough to tell Lord Woolf (then Master of the Rolls), Lord Justice Otton and LJ Ward, “Her Majesty the Queen, whose courts these are, is badly served by the shysters who now infest the judiciary”. A newspaper report carried the glaring headline, “Norman ‘Ousts’ Top Judge”. You don’t do THAT & get away with it!
FOOTNOTE 2: THE JUDICIAL MAFIA: They, their lackeys, thugs and puppets commit robbery, torture and murder with impunity. The sycophantic ‘News Media’ (who would draw praise from Josef Goebbels) leads the brainwashed public in worshipping them as Gods. They are not Gods, but Devils, sub-human creatures whose only human quality is arrogance. Very few people resist the brainwashing, and even fewer have courage enough to speak out.
FOOTBOTE 3: When I first began to learn of corruption in the courts, and published my book ‘CAUSE for CONCERN’ I said, ’The worse they treat me the better’, in that it would be proof of the truth of my words. Little did I know then how evil that worst would be, nor how wide and deep is the rot within the nation! The biggest shock of all has been how the bulk of the British people (who once had courage) not only accept this seizing of power by a Fifth Column, but are happy to be on the payroll, and/or grateful for the perks from serving them!

Manningham Library – & Common Purpose!
1) For 75 years I have been a grateful user of Public Libraries; much of my knowledge, education, entertainment and amusement coming from them. I have always found librarians to be the most efficient, most professional, helpful and friendly of all the professions, and have told them so, many times. For 48 years I have lived in the Bradford area, and have used libraries in Keighley, Bingley, Saltaire, Shipley, Allerton, Manningham, Girlington and Bradford Central. Staff in each of them have always been up to the standard I have learned to expect of them.
2) Manningham Library is only about 200 yards from my present home, and has obviously been very useful to me. In July 2009 it was reopened after being modernised and extended, most of the cost of nearly £1,500,000 having come from the Big Lottery Fund. The attractive facade has been cleaned and improved, the interior altered and extended.
3) Most dramatic however, has been the change in the staff! The efficient, helpful and friendly staff have been moved elsewhere – replaced by Common Purpose Automatons and Zombies, with a hotline to the Gestapo! You think I exaggerate? Not a bit of it! After being a friendly, convenient, community place on my doorstep, I would now be fearful of putting a foot in the place without a bodyguard and witnesses!
4) Today, Saturday, 23rd January 2010 I went to return a book, and asked the name of the Head Librarian (I had known the names of all the old staff). The ‘Library Manager’ told me I would have to speak to her ‘Line Manager’, who was busy taking in books, and stamping those going out. Two mothers with children were at the counter, so I sat close by and waited. After they had been served I could have taken my place to be served, but I waited until two other mothers had been dealt with. I had been sitting as quiet as the proverbial ‘little mouse’, but then stood up with the intention of asking my question.
5) Before I could get the words out, two Policemen arrived and made a beeline for me. “We understand you have been asked to leave and refused to do so” said one of them. That was completely untrue, and I told them so. Those who know anything about me know that I have every cause to be fearful of British Police. Shocked that a perfectly innocent errand had resulted in me being put in great fear, I told them that 66 years ago I had been fighting to keep people like them out of Britain, then realised that I had better get out of that place as fast as I could, which I did, badly shaken, There is a little bit more, but nothing that could remotely warrant such conduct by library staff. I tell it now.
6) A pensioner friend who I have known for more that 40 years goes into Manningham Library every day to read the daily papers. We have similar interests, and often exchange copies of documents on matters which interest us both. It has been an understanding that if I have anything for him, but he was not present when I went, I should leave items in an envelope, and staff would ensure he got them when he came next day. This we had been doing for several years, happily for all. Earlier in the week, I had done just that.
7) Yesterday, Friday 22nd January, my pensioner friend called on me unexpectedly, agitated and disturbed. “Do you know what they’ve done in that library” said he, “They’ve told me that Mr. Scarth has left an envelope for you, but you cannot have it because it is ‘Against the Rules’. If Mr. Scarth wants it back he will have to come and get it himself”. THAT is it! A friendly, convenient community place has been transformed – at great expense – into a place of fear!
8) In her Inquiry into the killings by Dr. Shipman, Dame Janet Smith identified “A Culture of Fear in the NHS”, which enabled Shipman to kill many more after he should have been stopped. The ‘Culture of Fear’ goes well beyond the NHS – it runs throughout the nation.
9) For the ‘Library Manager’ to tell such an outrageous lie is a sin, but to give false information to the police is also serious crime! I will be pressing for her to be prosecuted – not that it will do the slightest bit of good. There are only two laws in Britain: ‘Law One’ is to Protect the Powerful (and their lackeys). ‘Law Two’ is to Oppress the Others. 776 words.

A very different Christmas: You will understand why I act as I do now.
DECEMBER 1943: I was the youngest seaman aboard the destroyer HMS Matchless. Still very much a lad, I had barely started to shave. We were escorting convoys carrying war supplies to Murmansk for our Russian allies. I still recall the howling gales, mountainous seas, biting cold, freezing spray, 23 hour dark, sea sickness and the ever present German U-boats. A ‘ping’ on the Asdic echo-sounder brought a sudden surge of power and a heel to port or starboard as we raced to drop a ‘pattern’ of depth charges where the U-boat was thought to be.
CHRISTMAS EVE 1943: Signal received, “Detach from returning ‘empty‘ convoy, and join Convoy JW55B (a Murmansk bound convoy, approaching Bear Island) at full speed”. There was a full gale blowing. Pitching and rolling along at about 10 knots with the empty convoy was one thing: ‘Full speed’ (36 knots) was another! Throwing herself through the mountainous seas, Matchless’s bow would rise in the air, hover for a moment and come down with a crash as though on concrete, enough to split the seams (though thankfully they did not). Violent seas crashing on to the upper deck had smashed to smithereens the whaler and motor boat (our lifeboats). Christmas Day was spent thus, during which time the name ‘SCHARNHORST’ was passing round the ship. The name was spoken with a mixture of excitement, awe and fear. The Scharnhorst had a reputation - and had earned it! She was a German battle-cruiser.
BOXING DAY: Signal “Leave convoy JW55B and join 10th Cruiser Squadron (HMS Belfast, Norfolk and Sheffield)”. They were in action a few miles away, and yes, it WAS the Scharnhorst! She had broken off the engagement and with her superior speed had got out of range and contact. Having joined the cruisers, our force headed North to protect the convoy, V/Admiral Burnett guessing this to be her intended target. His guess proved to be correct. About noon we met up with her and a short gun battle took place, during which the Norfolk was hit. Scharnhorst broke off again and headed South for the safety of her Norwegian Fjord base. Our force was outgunned by her 11” guns and, as said, with her superior speed she had the initiative.
However, she was heading straight for another British force, led by the battleship Duke of York, with her 14” guns. We were aware of this, the Scharnhorst was not. So, we took up a shadowing role. By then the weather had eased a little; the twilight around noon had given way to the black of a winter Arctic night. The shadowing was done by radar, ours being superior to the Germans.
At 5pm the blackness of the night exploded into light, star shells from the Duke of York and our force lighting up the Scharnhorst as bright as day. For the next two and three quarter hours a running battle took place. Shells from the Duke of York, cruisers and destroyers, torpedoes from cruisers and destroyers all hit the Scharnhorst. She fought back magnificently but, outnumbered, outgunned and, most importantly, her speed reduced by damage, there could only be one end.
About 7pm Matchless came steaming in on a torpedo run, Scharnhorst to our starboard, we on her port quarter. From my position as starboard bridge wing lookout, I had a perfect view at close range. That magnificent ship, the most successful, most feared, the bravest, and surely the most beautiful fighting ship of any navy, was listing to starboard, fires blazing aboard her, but still firing with such guns as were able to do so. We did not in fact fire our torpedoes, as storm damage prevented the tubes being trained to starboard, so we hauled around and started a run to use them from port.
As we did so the star shells ceased, and we were in darkness for a few minutes, the Scharnhorst nowhere to be seen. We slowed, hove to, and in fact found ourselves almost exactly over the spot she had gone down. Using our our searchlight, we soon saw many floating men, most of them dead, face down in the water, bodies supported by their life belts – but some were alive. “Scharnhorst Gerzunken?” called out our captain, anxious to know whether she was still a threat to us. “Ja, Scharnhorst Gerzunken” came the reply. We threw scrambling nets and ropes over the side to haul the survivors aboard. There were 36 all told, from a ship’s company of nearly 2000. We on Matchless picked up 6 of them.
My main recollections of those days are the ferocious storms, the biting cold, the freezing spray which formed solid ice on the upperworks, the seamen on the upper deck looking like gnomes in their ‘goon suits’ (duffel coats were not enough under those conditions).
My main recollections of that particular Christmas are the full speed chase, the sight of that marvellous, magnificent ship, fighting to the very last, one of her 20mm guns (a pea shooter in comparison, which could have no part in this battle), firing a stream of tracers from the listing deck in a futile gesture of defiance right to the end, and the sight of so many who succumbed, floating in their watery graves. Having picked up those six survivors, a signal came from the CinC “Join Duke of York to escort her to Murmansk”.
Voices were still calling for help from the black of the winter Arctic night as we switched off the searchlight, hauled up the scrambling nets and steamed away, leaving the owners of those voices to certain death.
I’m sure Lt. Shaw, our skipper (the youngest of the flotilla), would have liked to disobey orders, as we all would. It seemed wrong at the time but, harsh though they were, the orders were right. Hove to, searchlight on, we were a sitting target for the U-boats in the area. Staying a moment too long could have ensured that we joined those unfortunate men.
On New years Day 1944 we steamed into Scapa Flow to a Hero’s welcome from all the ships and shore bases there, and headlines in the newspapers.
